Our Team

Ryan Turner is a Partner who joined NC Law and Legal Solutions in 2021, bringing with him over 20 years of experience practicing law, with the majority of his focus in the education sector. Upon relocating to Washington, he seized the opportunity to continue his dedication to serving and supporting children, families, and others in educational settings. Previously, Ryan served as in-house counsel for the Oakland Unified School District (“OUSD”) in California for 14 years. His extensive background in school law equips him with the expertise needed to effectively advocate for the needs of children, students, and families across all educational environments.

Paralegal / Legal Assistant Jamal enjoys taking on new challenges and obtained an Advanced Paralegal Certificate after working over 5 years at an advocacy organization. After acquiring two years’ experience in a non-profit legal department, he made the leap to NC Law and Legal Solutions to continue honing his skills. Jamal provides support for NC Law and Legal Solutions' day-to-day operations. In his free time, Jamal enjoys drawing and painting, and spending time with his family.

Paralegal / Legal Assistant James graduated from Macalester College in 2021, earning his BA in international studies and human rights. Following graduation, he gained experience as a legal assistant at the Ford Law Firm before joining NC Law and Legal Solutions in 2023. James is passionate about utilizing the law to safeguard and promote human rights, with aspirations to pursue law school in the future. In his leisure time, James indulges in baking, outdoor activities such as backpacking and skiing, and exploring new destinations through travel.
